Since we want to deliver the exact words somebody said, the reported speech does not change. However, the sentence that comes before or after it, is usually in the past tense
در گفتار مستقیم، چون می‌خواهیم دقیقاً همان کلمات را بیان کنیم، زمان جمله تغییری نمی‌کند. اما جمله‌ای که قبل یا بعد از آن می‌آید، معمولاً به زمان گذشته است
"I don't want you anymore.". I voiced/
"Why can't she come right now?" My mom yelled

When we want to report someone's speech indirectly, we use our own words to do it. So, the tenses must change
وقتی می‌خواهیم گفتار کسی را به طور غیرمستقیم گزارش کنیم، از کلمات خودمان استفاده می‌کنیم و بنابراین، زمان جملات باید تغییر کند
Chiara told me they were going on a trip to Italy/
The director said we could move the chairs around
چیارا به من گفت که آن‌ها به ایتالیا سفر می‌کنند/مدیر گفت که ما می‌توانیم صندلی‌ها را جابه‌جا کنیم
Backshift One important thing to do when we want to report speech indirectly, is to change the tense of the reported speech. In other words, if the sentence is in the simple present tense, it changes to simple past and so on. Take a look at the table below:

یکی از نکات مهم در گزارش گفتار غیرمستقیم، تغییر زمان جمله است. به این معنا که اگر جمله‌ای در زمان حال ساده باشد، به گذشته ساده تغییر می‌کند
"I want to go to the movies". → She said she wanted to go to the movies
می‌خواهم به سینما بروم." → او گفت که می‌خواهد به سینما برود. همان‌طور که می‌بینید
"We are cleaning the house today." → They said they were cleaning the house today
"ما امروز در حال تمیز کردن خانه هستیم." → آن‌ها گفتند که امروز در حال تمیز کردن خانه بودند
In English, we have some reporting verbs that are used to report speech, either directly or indirectly, to a third party. These verbs are presented in the following list:

Reported speech, also known as indirect speech, is a way of reporting what someone has said without necessarily using their exact words
روشی است (Indirect Speech)، یا گفتار غیرمستقیم (Reported Speech) گزارش گفتار چیست؟ گزارش گفتار
.برای گزارش دادن آنچه شخصی گفته است، بدون اینکه الزاماً از کلمات دقیق او استفاده کنیم
We can report speech in two ways:
Direct Speech
Indirect Speech
ما می‌توانیم گفتار را به دو روش گزارش کنیم
گفتار مستقیم
گفتار غیرمستقیم
When we want to report someone's exact same words to a third party, we report it directly. Remember to put the whole reported clause in quotation marks
وقتی بخواهیم کلمات دقیق کسی را به شخص دیگری گزارش دهیم، از گفتار مستقیم استفاده می‌کنیم. باید جمله‌ای که نقل می‌کنیم، داخل علامت نقل قول («» یا "") قرار بگیرد
They said, "See you later!"/"To hell with you!", Maria shouted
آن‌ها گفتند: "بعداً می‌بینمت!"/ماریا فریاد زد: "برو به جهنم!"
